![]() | Author Interviews Follow our Author Interviews page for insightful author content paired with new releases. We'll update this space with pieces from publishers and publications, and "Ask the Author" sessions hosted in our community forum. Recent interviews feature Cynthia Weiner, Laila Lalami, and Nancy Jensen. |
Beyond the Book: The Memoir-in-Essays Compared to a traditional memoir, a memoir-in-essays allows for a more thematic approach and a diversity of styles and formats. It generally prioritizes ideas and memorable scenes or vignettes, and its essays might be linked or discrete. Alligator Tears by Edgar Gomez, featured in a recent issue of our digital magazine, is just one example. Here, we highlight a few more. | ![]() |
![]() | How to Write a Book Club Discussion Guide Whether you run a discussion group at your library or your patrons need help creating a reading guide for their clubs from scratch, we have you covered with this article on writing great book discussion questions. |
Discussions You and your patrons can find inspiration for your book clubs among our more than 200 past discussions. Members and patrons of subscribing libraries are able to join in by creating their own posts, but anyone can view the discussions. We're currently talking about A Map to Paradise by Susan Meissner and Becoming Madam Secretary by Stephanie Dray, among many other books. | ![]() |
![]() | April Books We’re Excited About Between April showers and sunshine, you're sure to be craving some fresh reads. Here, we present a murky story of literary suspense, a novel of historical England, an African gothic tale, and a book about a woman with an abiding interest in airplanes. Read them with your book club safely indoors while weathering spring storms, or take them to the park to enjoy amid the gradually warming breezes. And be sure to look out for upcoming coverage in our digital magazine! |
New & Notable Books in April We've carefully selected 100+ of the most noteworthy books publishing in April — check them out! Individual members and subscribing libraries can see, sort, and download the full list for all months. Non-subscribers can view books up to the current month and a limited selection of future books. | ![]() |
